| Approve the sale of Tanker 1 (1986 Four Guys tanker) for non-emergency use or scrap metal, at current market value
|
|
| | | | | | | | BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Approve the sale of Tanker 1 (1986 Four Guys tanker) for non-emergency use or scrap metal, at current market value. |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND:
The Fire Department received a FEMA grant to replace its 1986 Four Guys tanker. On January 22, 2020, the Board of Trustees approved the donation of the tanker to Fort Custer Army Base in the Kalamazoo area.
However, after the tanker was delivered to Fort Custer, the Fire Chief was notified that the person who had requested and accepted the donation was misrepresenting himself as an agent of the army base. Due to the misrepresentation, and that Fort Custer officials did not want the tanker, it was returned to the township.
Due to FEMA regulations, the tanker can only be sold for non-emergency use. Bids will be sought to sell it for scrap metal. |
