| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND:
The Fire Department participated in a regional FEMA grant effort to acquire much needed extrication equipment to replace current equipment that is over twenty-five years old. The grant application to FEMA for the 2018 Assistance to Fire Fighters Grant was successfully awarded for a total of $1,434,122. The grant was a regional effort with the following communities participating: Augusta Township, Chelsea, Hamburg Township, Manchester, Milan, Northfield Township, Pittsfield Township, Salem Township, Sumpter Township, Van Buren Township, and Ypsilanti.
Pittsfield Township's grant award totals $219,712, which includes the matching funds requirement of $19,973.82. The Fire Department will purchase new extrication equipment with the grant funds. The list of equipment to be purchased is attached. |
