| | | | | | | | BOARD ACTION REQUESTED: Authorize the Supervisor and Clerk to enter into an Agreement with Fonson Company, Inc., low bidder, for the construction of three non-motorized pedestrian improvements (Addington Lane, Pittsfield Glen and Lohr Road) for a cost not to exceed $475,002.91, subject to Township Attorney approval |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND:
The Board of Trustees, in fall 2022, approved moving forward with three projects to install mid-block crossings: (1) Lohr Road between Lohr Circle and Weatherstone Drive; (2) East Textile Road at the Pittsfield Glen entrance (Whispering Springs Drive); and (3) Stone School Road at Addington Lane. All three (3) locations include construction of concrete curb ramp and sidewalk, curb, pavement markings, signage, solar rectangular rapid flashing beacons, temporary traffic control, SESC measures, and turf establishment. The Stone School/Addington Lane location also includes installation of storm sewer and storm structures. The Lohr Road location also includes curb reconstruction, HMA driveway and road reconstruction, storm sewer and structures, mast arm installation, and wiring for a new case sign and downlight, including conduit and DTE meter coordination. A request for proposals for the three projects was prepared and advertised. Three contractors responded. After reviewing the proposals of the three respondents, Stantec recommended Fonson Company, Inc., for the project at a cost not to exceed $475,002.91. The Department of Municipal Services recommends the selection of Fonson Company, Inc., for the construction of three nonmotorized pedestrian improvements.
