| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND:
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) submitted a grant application to the Washtenaw 100 club for two ballistic shields for active assault incidents, after the club solicited equipment grant applications from all local fire and police agencies in Washtenaw County. The application was submitted in July 2022.The DPS received a letter on September 30, 2022 advising that the grant was approved, with a check received for the total quoted purchase and delivery price of $8,345.74.
The Baker Bat Shield Responder is a ballistic shield that police patrol officers and the School Resource Officer would use when responding to high-risk incidents involving an armed subject. One shield will be assigned to the Police Department patrol division and one shield will be assigned to the School Resource Officer. |
