Authorize the purchase of mold remediation services at Fire Station #3 and temporary housing for fire personnel for a cost not to exceed $68,719.69

Personnel at Station 3 recently noticed floor tiles in the large bathroom starting to become raised up. They then noticed water leaking into the basement. Several companies were called in to test for mold, and "black mold" was found. The areas containing mold were contained. We were presented with a protocol to remediate the mold which would cause the fire personnel to be out of the station for an unknown amount of time.

The source of the water leak was determined to be from the shower pan.

After the affected areas are remediated, re-construction will need to begin and we are getting quotes for that work.

The personnel will need temporary housing as they can't be in the building while the remediation is going on.

Remediation - $38,719.69 plus a $5,000 cushion for unexpected expenses for a total of $43,719.69.

Temporary Housing - up to $5,000 per month with a one time set up fee of $3,000 to 4,000 and a refundable security deposit of $1,000.

For a temporary housing total of up to $10,000 initial fee and a recurring monthly fee of up to $5,000.

Since we don't know how long we will be out of the station, the total for four months is up to $25,000.

Grand total - $68,719.69.
