BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:

Authorize the Supervisor and Clerk to enter into an Architectural Services contract with Joseph Philips – Architects, LLC, Subject to Township Attorney approval

BACKGROUND:

The Building Department has been working on organizing the future facility improvement needs of the Community Center and completing plans for remodeling the old fire garage into their future office space. The future facility needs must be planned out in order to work in harmony with the remodeling of the fire garage.  We have completed some concept ideas to demonstrate how we think it could work and now we need a registered design professional to detail how it will work. I have worked with Mr. Philips on numerous projects over the years, including the Pittsfield Township Hickory Woods Park Building, and have found he and his staff to be outstanding. Michigan law requires government projects with a value greater than $15,000.00 to have signed and sealed construction documents prepared by a design professional registered in the State of Michigan.

This contract is to provide Architectural Services, on an hourly basis when needed, at a rate as described in “Exhibit B” – Standard Rate and Charge Schedule and at increments no greater than three thousand dollars.
