| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND:
On March 23, 2022, the Pittsfield Township Board of Trustees approved the 2022 Annual Local Road Maintenance Agreement Between Pittsfield Township and Washtenaw County Road Commission for a cost not to exceed $918,481.62
As in previous years, Stantec Consulting Michigan Inc. (Stantec) will provide Professional Engineering Services for the Pittsfield Township 2022 Local Road Program. Construction is anticipated to start in the Spring of 2022 and be completed in the Fall of 2022. All work will be administered by the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) and their contractor(s). The intent of the Stantec services is to assist the Township in coordinating schedules with WCRC, provide updates to the Township, confirm Township compliance and quality control of the work, and coordinating the resolution of any issues and/or work additions/deletions that may arise during the execution of the work.
The following services will be provided by Stantec for an amount not to exceed $12,000.00.
• Attend a pre-construction meeting (or field meeting) with WCRC, Contractor, Subcontractors,
• Township Staff and others as necessary.
• Review of any pertinent shop drawings, material submittals, and 3rd party test data.
• Review any construction staking (provided by others) of the proposed improvements including sidewalks, ramps, crosswalks, etc. to assure ADA compliance.
• Provide high-level oversight of construction activities (typically, 2-4 hours per week) depending on the contractor’s schedule. Project duration is assumed to be 6 months between May 15 through November 15, 2022.
• Assist the Township with the administration of WCRC’s contract to assure satisfactory compliance by the contractor and satisfactory completion of all of the Townships contracted areas.
• Assist the Township with the investigation and resolution of any resident issues.
• Assist the Township with the review and verification of any WCRC billings to the Township, as required.
• Conduct project closeout, completion of any outstanding punch list items, walk through, and final pay estimate. Coordinate the project closeout with Pittsfield Charter Township.
• Maintain an electronic file of Inspector’s Daily Reports, project updates and communications, and WCRC/Contractor provided data.

This will be funded under line item 101-252-821-000. This line item will need a future budget amendment of $12,000 per Director of Finance Watkins.

Stantec will provide coordination between Pittsfield Township staff and WCRC on this project.
