SUBJECT:

Authorize payment to Cadillac Paving for emergency pavement restoration efforts to various sites as a result of five (5) water and sewer repairs, for a cost not to exceed $28,362.00


BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:

Authorize payment to Cadillac Paving for emergency pavement restoration efforts to various  sites as a result of five (5) water and sewer repairs, for a cost not to exceed $28,362.00

BACKGROUND:

The Utilities Department had five (5) emergency water and sewer main repairs that required excavation of the road or parking lot to make the necessary repairs.  Cadillac performed all necessary pavement repairs in order to open the public roadways.

 

  • May 20, 2021 the Utilities Department performed an emergency repair to water main located under the southbound lane of State Road, South of Morgan. As a result of the break, the pavement was removed and replaced upon completion of the repair to the water main.
  • May 22,2021 the Utilities Department performed an emergency repair to water main located under the asphalt parking lot of 4670 Runway Blvd.  As a result of the break, the pavement was removed and replaced upon completion of the repair to the water main.
  • June 22, 2021 the Utilities Department performed an emergency repair to water main located under the northbound lane of Platt Road, South of Michigan Ave. As a result of the break, the pavement was removed and replaced upon completion of the repair to the water main.
  • July 27, 2021 the Utilities Department performed an emergency repair to the sanitary sewer main located under the northbound lane of Lohr Road, North of Waterways. As a result of the break, the pavement was removed and replaced upon completion of the repair to the sanitary sewer main.
  • October 4, 2021 the Utilities Department performed an emergency repair to water main located under the westbound lane of Packard Road, west of Carpenter. As a result of the break, the pavement was removed and replaced upon completion of the repair to the water main.

Meets Washtenaw County Road Commission standards for road replacement as a condition of their annual Blanket Permit.
