| | | | | | | | BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Authorize the Supervisor and Clerk to enter into a Shared Services Agreement with Washtenaw County Health Department for the Prescription for Health Program, subject to Township Attorney approval. |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND:
This will be the sixth season of our Farmers Market's participation in the Prescription for Health Program managed by the Washtenaw County Health Department, and funded by the St. Joseph Mercy Health System. Participating health care providers write prescriptions for their patients to eat more fruits and vegetables. Prescriptions are redeemed at the Farmers Market, and can be used both in person, and online, to purchase $10 in produce for ten weeks for a total of $100 per person per season. This not only benefits the participant, but also supports our local farmers, and regional agriculture. |
