| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND:
In 2013, the Board of Trustees approved a 3-year agreement that provided for Pittsfield Township contributing $18,000/year to Washtenaw County, which in turn, contracted the Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) to provide statutorily required animal control services to the County. In February 2016, without renewal of this agreement, the Pittsfield Township Board of Trustees approved direct payment to HSHV in the same amount of $18,000/year for another 3-year period to ensure that we met our financial commitment/obligation for provision of animal control services to our community.
In 2017, Washtenaw County informed Pittsfield Township that contract renewals with HSHV would be on an annual basis. With the expiration of the 2019-2020 contract on September 1, 2020, the attached Agreement is being provided for your approval. This Agreement, which continues a longstanding agreement with the County, was delayed in being brought before the Board of Trustees for approval due to the COVID-19 pandemic. |
