Adopt a Resolution declaring the township's intent to establish a street lighting Special Assessment District in Arbor Ridge Crossing Phase 2, and setting a Public Hearing date, Resolution #20-43.

The developer of Arbor Ridge Crossing Phase 2, Lombardo Homes, contacted Pittsfield Township with a request to install streetlights in Phase 2 of the subdivision, where presently no streetlights exist.

Pittsfield Township requested DTE Energy to provide a proposal and cost estimate to furnish and install street lighting equipment in Arbor Ridge Crossing Phase 2. DTE Energy has proposed six 72W LED colonial fixtures on direct buried 14’ fiberglass posts, at a cost of $22,652. 

Lombardo Homes has provided payment in full to the township for the installation of the streetlights, allowing us to proceed with establishing a Special Assessment District (SAD) for the streetlights operating cost, estimated at $1,624 annually, which will be paid for by the residents of Arbor Ridge Crossing Phase 2. That continuing operating cost of $1,624 would be equally shared by all residents in the Arbor Ridge Crossing Phase 2, for an estimated annual cost of $42.73 per lot.

Resolution #20-43 establishes the need to move forward, as well as sets the second Public Hearing
date before establishing the district. These meetings allow the Board to hear any questions or concerns from the public.
