THROUGH:

FROM:

DATE:

SUBJECT:

Authorize the Supervise and Clerk to enter into an Agreement with Erie Construction, LLC (Erie) of Woodhaven, Michigan, low bidder, for Lillie Park Trail Improvements for a cost not to exceed $120,000 including contingency, subject to Township Attorney approval

BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:

Authorize the Supervise and Clerk to enter into an Agreement with Erie Construction, LLC (Erie) of Woodhaven, Michigan, low bidder, for Lillie Park Trail Improvements for a cost not to exceed $120,000 including contingency, subject to Township Attorney approval.

BACKGROUND:

The boardwalk at Lillie Park is currently underwater and impassable. It has been determined that the water cannot be removed as there is no place to release it. On August 11, 2020 the Park Commission unanimously voted in favor of moving forward with the bid process to enhance the current trail detour to match the existing trail at an anticipated cost of $120,000.

A total of two (2) bids were received, ranging from a low bid in the amount of $143,741 submitted by Erie Construction, LLC (Erie) of Woodhaven, Michigan, to a high bid in the amount of $169,640 (i.e. corrected amount from as-read $175,640) submitted by All Star Power Excavation (All Star) of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. A bid tabulation has been enclosed summarizing all of the bids that were received for the project. The low bid from Erie Construction, LLC was value engineered to meet the costs we deemed acceptable for the scope of work.
