| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND:
The 2020 DPS budget included the purchase of three new patrol vehicles to replace older vehicles in the fleet. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Police Department has had to reorganize patrol operations and currently has officers working full-time out of all three DPS facilities. This resulted in a shortage of available patrol vehicles for patrol shift operations. As a result, DPS has had to maintain two of the three vehicles that were supposed to be replaced in order to provide the necessary number of police vehicles for effective patrol operations.
Additionally, DPS is requesting to purchase equipment to fully outfit the police vehicle assigned to the School Resource Officer, as that vehicle is used for patrol operations when school is not in session.
To be purchased:
- Three (3) Dell Latitude laptops, docking stations, w/accessories, total cost: $6,386.54
- Three (3) WatchGuard 4RE in-car camera systems w/five-year warranty, total cost: $18,462
- Two (2) Kustom Signals Directional Golden Eagle II, dual-antenna radar units, total cost: $4,696
- Three (3) Lewis Machine Tool (LMT) Patrol Rifle systems, total cost: $5,097.33
- Three (3) Kiesler Police Supply Remington 870 Police shotguns, total cost: $1,396
- Three (3) Kiesler Police Supply Remington 970 Less-Lethal shotguns, total cost: $1,405.50
- Three (3) CDW-G, Printer, Modem, & additional in-car computer accessories, total cost: $6,962.13
- Three (3) Stop Stick, Ltd. 12' / stop stick rack kits, total cost: $1,650
