| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND:
In May 2019, the Board of Trustees approved entering into an agreement with the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) to perform a traffic study at the intersection of Ann Arbor-Saline and Oak Valley roads. In December 2019, the Board approved undertaking design work for the intersection. The final design being recommended provides for right-turn lanes for both east and west bound traffic on Oak Valley Dr at the intersection with Ann Arbor-Saline Road. It will also include installation of a new traffic signal with a mast arm to provide for pedestrian safety.
Given the past and current traffic congestion at this intersection and WCRC’s inability to require developers to make the requisite improvements, this request is essential to provide for the safety and well-being of the thousands of Pittsfield Township residents that live, work, and recreate in the Oak Valley/Ann Arbor-Saline area. |
